MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Salem-Keizer School Board Approves 2006-07 School Year Calendar

(SALEM) - The first day of school in 2006-07 will be one day later for most Salem-Keizer students.

The district calendar for next school year was approved Tuesday night by the School Board.

Elementary students start school on Wednesday, September 6th � one day later than last year. Sixth and ninth graders will still start on Tuesday, September 5th.

Here are the key dates for the 2006-07 school year:

First Day

September 5th: 6 and 9 grades start school September 6th: 1-5 grades, 7-8 grades and 10-12 grades start school September 12th: Kindergarten starts Winter Break: December 18th - January 1st

Spring Break: March 26th - 30th

Graduation: June 7th and 8th

Last Day:

June 13th: All elementary students June 14th: All middle and high school students
