The Friends of Pioneer Cemetery are seeking volunteers for several upcoming Saturday events. Community volunteer work parties will be held on the following Saturdays, beginning at 9:00 AM.

May 20th - Spring clean up; headstone straightening

June 24th - Headstone straightening; spruce-up of a tea site

Special events at Pioneer Cemetery conducted by volunteers:

May 20th, 21st & 22nd - Visitor information tent for Memorial Day weekend visitors

June 25th - Sunday Victorian Tea with living history enactments

Basic maintenance at city-owned Salem Pioneer Cemetery is accomplished by parks tree-trimming crews, contract mowing services and other parks personnel.

The upkeep of neglected grave sites, is dependent upon community volunteers.
