Police Investigating Home Invasion Robbery and MurderSalem-News.comInvestigators report this residence may have been targeted by three suspects seeking money and drugs.
(OREGON CITY, Ore. ) - Late Thursday evening, at 11:14 PM, a residential home invasion robbery and murder occurred at the address of 15275 South Maple Lane Road, in Oregon City. One male adult was shot and killed during this robbery event, and an additional female occupant at this residence was reportedly physically assaulted during this incident. Clackamas County Sheriff's Patrol responded to this initially reported shooting incident and discovered the shooting victim -- a deceased male adult – located on the exterior of this residence. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives were summoned to the crime scene to initiate this home invasion / murder investigation. Investigators are conducting interviews with a male and female adult who initially reported this incident to dispatchers, and were present at this residence at the time the suspects invaded this home shortly after 11:00 PM. The female victim was reporting to have been physically assaulted during this event; however, did not require medical attention. Clackamas County Sheriff's Investigators report this residence may have been targeted by three (3) suspects seeking money and drugs. It is also revealed this residence is reported to have had suspicious activity detected at this location in the recent past. The Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner has removed the deceased adult male from this location and is transporting this body for the anticipated forensic autopsy to be conducted by the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office, in Clackamas. The name of the deceased will not be revealed at this time while family notifications are being attempted. Investigators have secured this residence and are presently conducting interviews. It is anticipated Clackamas County Sheriff's Office personnel will be circulating in and around this residence throughout the morning and later today as this home invasion / murder investigation continues. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office wishes to assure neighbors and the community this does not appear to be a random type of act, and that illicit drugs and money appear to be implicated in this ongoing investigation.
