(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem police are investigating a Wednesday car crash that killed a 69 year-old Salem man.

Salem police say Gerald Freerksen was a passenger in a car driven by his wife, 66 year-old Linda Freerksen, when they were rear-ended by another vehicle on Highway 22.

The other driver, 23-year-old Nicholas Miller, has not been charged in the crash. Police say speed may have played a role in the crash.
