Detectives Seize Drugs and Take Child Into Protective Custody

(SALEM) - A two-week investigation into the alleged illegal sale of marijuana and prescription drugs led to a number of arrests in Salem Wednesday. Salem Police say members of the Department`s Community Response Team served a narcotics related Search Warrant at 239 Myers Street South #12.

In addition to the arrests of three adults and one 17-year old, a two-year old child was removed from the residence on Myers Street South and placed in temporary protective custody.

Arrested during the search were 19-year old Andrew Betts who lives at the residence. He is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance- Marijuana, Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance I “ Marijuana, Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance II - Morphine Sulphate, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

20-year old Natasha Music of the same address was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Morphine Sulphate, Child Neglect I and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

26-year old Lanny A. Lewton of the same address was charged with Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance- Marijuana, and a Parole Violation.

A seventeen-year old Juvenile was also arrested and charged with Possession and Distribution of Controlled Substances.

The team located approximately a quarter ounce of suspected Marijuana within the residence and over 150 Oxycodone pills, a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
