Suspects Involved in Silverton Police Shooting ArrestedSalem-News.comThe second suspect was apprehended at 2:30 PM this afternoon, following a day-long manhunt by numerous area law enforcement officers and agencies.
(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Silverton Police captured one suspect early this morning and they were on the lookout for another after both allegedly attempted to run down a Silverton Police officer. That event reportedly led to an officer-involved shooting. Police Chief Rick Lewis indicated in a press release, that it began at 3:01 AM, when Silverton Police Officers were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress at Champion Homes located at 1204 Mill St. Silverton. "While checking the business, an officer was confronted by two suspects in a vehicle who attempted to run him over. At least one shot was fired by the officer." Lewis says the suspects fled in a vehicle which was pursued a short distance down Hobart Road before they left the roadway and attempted to cut across a hops field on Monitor Road. The vehicle became stuck and suspects fled on foot. Through the assistance of other agencies and canine units, one suspect was captured at 8:00 AM at Hwy 213 and N. Abiqua Road. 35-year old Aliksey Londura, address unknown, is being held in the Marion County Jail on outstanding warrants at this time. A second suspect was apprehended near Downs Road east of Highway 214 at approximately 2:30 PM this afternoon, Lewis says, following a day-long manhunt by numerous area law enforcement officers and agencies. He has not yet been positively identified and has not been charged with any crime as of this time. The incident is also still under investigation as an officer-involved shooting. The Marion County HART Team is conducting that investigation. Silverton Police say additional information should be available Tuesday morning.
