Kidnap Suspect Arrested Near Grants Pass

Police say the man kidnapped the same woman twice.

49-year old Robert Alan Bufanda was arrested by police today for kidnapping, the victim was safely recovered.

(GRANTS PASS, Ore.) - A man wanted since an April 15th kidnapping of a Grants Pass-area woman followed by another kidnapping today of the same woman was arrested about 4:30 PM in a wooded area near where the stolen 2001 Ford Ranger Edge pickup was located unoccupied.

The victim has reportedly been located and is safe according to police.

They say 49-year old Robert Alan Bufanda of Grants Pass, had been sought by State, county and local police agencies since April 15th after he kidnapped and threatened a Grants Pass woman.

The victim was able to escape the first kidnap attempt.

Then today at approximately 2:30 PM, Bufanda, who was considered armed and dangerous, forced his way into the victim's residence and kidnapped her a second time and was last seen driving a stolen pickup.
