(GRANTS PASS, Ore.) - Police say they are on the lookout for a man wanted for the April 15th kidnapping of a Grants Pass-area woman, and now the man has kidnapped the woman again. Lieutenant Brian Powers says 49-year old Robert Alan Bufanda hadn't been arrested for the first offense yet. He says the suspect and victim are believed to be in the Josephine/Jackson County area at this time and police are asking for the public's help in locating the vehicle, suspect and victim. Robert Alan Bufanda of Grants Pass, has been sought by Oregon State Police and Grants Pass-area police agencies since April 15th after he reportedly kidnapped and threatened a Grants Pass woman. The victim was able to escape the first kidnap attempt. According to OSP Detective Tom Harrison, on April 22, 2008 at approximately 2:30 PM, Bufanda, who is considered armed and dangerous, forced his way into the victim's residence and kidnapped her a second time. Bufanda is believed to be operating a stolen black 2001 Ford Ranger Edge pickup displaying Oregon license 246 DEP.
The victim is a 43-year old female. Police investigators say Bufanda had an off-and-on relationship with the woman prior to the current events. Robert Bufanda is described as a white male, 5'11", 210 pounds, with blue eyes and bald. Anyone spotting the vehicle and/or suspect is asked to immediately call 911.
