Reagan Assessed Current President as a N'er-Do-Well Son

In an age of immense confusion, some things are just worth talking about.

(SALEM, Ore.) - As societies advance over a period of time, it seems logical to assume that they would depart from old mistaken ways of the past, and that the quality of a nation's top elected leader would exponentially be advanced. The key is that they would have all of the past leader's mistakes to learn from.

It seems most could agree that World War Two was the most extraordinary loss of human life ever experienced on earth and that war in and of itself, is not something we or any nation should seek to deliver foolishly.

Yet we have elected a president and fostered a society today that actually considers itself "pro-war" and sees the taking of human life as the only means of dealing with a problem that they in reality, know almost nothing about. When the reports offered to people as fact are not accurate, then history is not recorded with accuracy.

It is sad yet true that there are matters in this world of military necessity, but our national leadership seem to be living in a cloud when it comes to knowing who we should strike and why. The person who gets all the credit, and the butt of all the jokes, is George W. Bush.

Today's conservative has been greatly defined by this man's politics, and I think even his staunchest allies know that this man's policies are anything but conservative, and his wasteful management and endless list of questionable business dealings and alliances, not to mention those of Dick Cheney, are literally too vast and intertwined for most people to get their mind around.

Perhaps those who find my assessment of this president inaccurate and distasteful, I point to his history of Driving While Intoxicated, his use of cocaine and other drugs, and his sad military record: the story of another rich boy protected during wartime by a group he completely exploits today; the National Guard.

President Ronald Reagan had plenty of faults, just ask any person related to someone with mental disabilities whose funding he removed in the 1980's. But he was a president that people looked up to and he had a strong crossover following of Democrats during the years of "Reaganomics" and the economic stimulation brought about through the generation of money from the depletion of programs for the mentally ill.

So if Reagan was the real conservative GOP President he is remembered for, it seems logical that other republicans would take stock in his character assessments, especially when it came to sensitive matters like the behaviors of the family of the country's Vice President, George Herbert Walker Bush.

According to the Reagan Diaries, the former President's thought on the man who is the President today, was more than dismal:

"A moment I've been dreading. George brought his n'er-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida; the one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work."

From the REAGAN DIARIES------entry dated May 17, 1986.

It is more than historical perspective, it is also proof of sorts that the critics have been right about the President's character all along.

George W. Bush still has the ability to cause this nation great havoc in the coming months. That has been the contention of certain Democrats who have repeatedly talked about impeachment, only to find little support from their own ranks.

Through his bullish politics and the fact that he has apparent desire to stretch our weary battle troops thinner, escalating problems with nations that have not done anything to us. History tells us that

I never thought I'd find myself agreeing with something Reagan said...

Reagan was instrumental in furthering this madness, he signed for "Garden Plot" which everyone knows is an extermination project. And he wasn't much help in the food area either. In fact Reagan was NEVER a Christian, was an occultist and one of the most disgusting, deceitful presidents we've had. This is not based on my opinion but fact and an abundance of inside information/documentation on the web. Speaking of....
