Triple Homicide Suspect Captured in Thurston County, Washington

Police have been searching for the man for days.

(OYLMPIA, Wash.) - The suspect wanted in connection with three murders in Union County, Oregon was captured in Thurston County, Washington less than an hour ago.

42-year old Gregory Alvin Cook, aka Gregory Alvin Mitts, was arrested by Thurston County Sheriff's Office working in cooperation with the Union County Major Crime Team.

Cook was the subject of an intensive search for the homicide involving 51-year old Shannon M. McKillop, whose remains were discovered in Union County near Elgin, Oregon on July 24, 2009.

Police say they located additional human remains in a secluded area north of Elgin Saturday. Tentative identification has been made of two individuals.

Based on the information developed during the investigation and evidence at the scene, the remains are believed to be those of 50-year old Frank M. Scaramuzzi, and 28-year old Jeremiah H. Johnston, both from Elgin.

Appropriate notifications to next of kin have been made.

No further details are being released at this time. More information may be made available this afternoon.
