Baby Boys Have the End of Their Penis Cut Off for the Worst Possible Reasons

Tim King and Agron Belica say ENOUGH!
We must change the 'penile code' we live under.

Scared baby

(SALEM / BOSTON) - I am increasingly discovering the effectiveness of addressing subjects without venting anger or opinion; the approach has the capacity to reach people who are otherwise locked in a mindstep pattern that prevents them from seeing the other side. However there's no chance I can put that good practice into play for this article, still I thought it was good to mention.

Do we keep saying 'circumcise' for the sake of political correctness?

Here is what I have to say: Baby boys have the end of their penis cut off for the worst possible reasons and it is unnatural and unimaginably painful; a surprising number of babies die each year from the procedure.

Just think about that for a second.

We can get into the origin; the way a popular British writer in the 1850's told parents that this ancient ritual with its roots in Jewish slavery, would discourage their boys from masturbating. After all, that will make them go blind... so they steadfastly believed then.

But it is only a side note that penis trimming is not a western practice.

This practice was first forced upon Jewish people in Biblical times to distinguish them as slaves. This ritualistic hacking; through any number of ugly methods, including the use of human teeth... the end of the penis off, didn't end with slavery. Instead it has become a cosmetic and psychological issue because Americans largely see the uncircumcised penis as less attractive. It is a sad reality.

People will object at this point and say, 'It isn't the end of the penis that is cut off, it is the foreskin' when in fact the foreskin is the end of the penis so as long as we keep it factual, it is the end of the male sexual organ and nothing short of that.

As referenced, this bizarre and barbaric practice infiltrated British culture through parental fear and naturally it found its way across that pond we call the Atlantic. It is like so many other traditions ranging from the silly... like believing that masturbation causes blindness; to the tragic, like racism, that die very hard in this country.

I had a clue from a pretty young age that something didn't make sense. Growing up in LA, I was the unusual one on the junior high showers not just for being Caucasian, (there were only a handful of us at Gage Jr. High in Huntington Park, Ca.) but also because I was circumcised. Most of the Hispanic kids I grew up around managed to avoid going under the knife.

Tim King & Agron Belica, July 2012- Baltimore.

As my dear friend and fellow team member Agron Belica in Boston so effectively communicates in Song for Intactivists: Circumcision is Child Abuse on the Highest Level,. In a nutshell, it is a terrible life-changing procedure that is medically unnecessary.

Babies are not capable of consenting to this barbaric, painful procedure performed with something called a 'Gomco Clamp'. They can always choose to have the procedure later in life if they so wish.

The ultra fascinating and knowledgeable Dr. Phillip Leveque, who writes for, recalls the sounds of babies screaming from circumcision as having been worse than those of men injured on the battlefield during World War Two, and he would know since was a frontline Infantry soldier in the war before becoming a doctor.

As an experienced journalist, this is the part of modern society in the U.S. that confounds and defies my understanding. Males who are circumcised lose thirty percent of the tissue that provides sexual sensation. Girls or women who are circumcised lose it completely. The world decries what is known as FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) yet mutilating the genitals of male babies they accept it without question? So 30% is OK?

Do we not treasure our infants and the lives they are born to enjoy as complete human beings? Intact is how nature intended males to be, not sliced off at the end like a meaningless object.

We can acknowledge how and when the western Christians first began to force circumcision upon their children, but that does not account for what allows this to take place in a modern age.

It is a cultural, sexual, physical and psychological burden carried by males that should have ceased long ago.

Let's review this... you treasure them during the pregnancy; you go through proper prenatal care; dad is there as part of a birth team and this tiny human being who suddenly is no longer living on fluids breathes his first breath of air.

Then the doctors slice the end of his penis off.

What is wrong with people??

Read the Bible, read the articles available through the link; check out the writings of 'Sigusmond' and Richard Matteoli; they are two of our team members who expressly follow this topic. I've addressed it quite a few times, Agron takes it on musically, and Dr. Leveque has written about the hard facts of circumcision. Dr. Ronald Goldman is not a member of our team, but he shares articles as a guest writer and his contributions, like Dr. Leveque's, are coming from a high level Medical Expert. Additionally, Dr. Goldman is the author of Questioning Circumcision: A Jewish Perspective, which is endorsed by five rabbis.

And on the side of religion, Agron asks the question, "As a Muslim I challenge the Muslim world to bring proof of the validity of this practice, either from the Qur'an or the medical community, just bring some type of proof!"

He stresses that this practice has nothing to do with Islamic history and asks, "When will Muslims understand that circumcision is a bid'ah (innovation), and not a Muslim bid'ah, but a Jewish bid'ah. Since when do Muslims uphold Jewish Bid'ah???"

    Some sources for the bid'ah:

Many Jewish Rabbis and scholars believe that this passage about Abraham is an interpolation, an invention of later Judaic priests: “Biblical scholars, however, have known for a long time that this passage was never in the original Bible. It was added about 500 B.C., over one thousand years after the time of Abraham. Scholars David Rosenberg and Harold Bloom have published a full translation of the original version of Genesis, which dates from about 950 B.C. Here, Chapter 17 is conspicuously absent.

All we read is that it was that day Yahweh cut a covenant with Abram: "I gave this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, Euphrates—of the Kenite, and Kenizzite, the Kadmonite; of Hittite, the Perizzite, the Rephaim; of the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girashite, the Jubisite’" (Paul M. Fleiss, Fredirick Mansfield Hodges, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Circumcision; Rosenberg D, Bloom H (trans and eds). The Book of J., New York: Grove Weidenfeld; 1990 p.79)

In addition, Rabbi and historian Lawrence A. Hoffman explains the reason why circumcision was incorporated into priestly Judaism: “they did this by instituting a temple-centered sacrificial cult into which newborn males were initiated by circumcision. They created the Abrahamic circumcision myth and inserted it into the most important part of Genesis, pretending that it had been there all along. The priesthood maintained their grip on power until about A.D. 71, when they were overthrown. Circumcision has remained a Hebrew practice ever since.” (Hoffman L A. Covenant of Blood: Circumcision and Gender in Rabbinic Judaism. Chicago & London: University of Chicago Press; 1996.) See: Music: Say No to Circumcision - Leave Those Babies Alone!

We must change the 'penile code' we live under.

If you think it is interesting that a person like Agron who has a Muslim background has so much to say about this, you have to express an equal amount of surprise to know that our primary advocates supplying the information for this campaign, like Dr. Ronald Goldman, are from the Jewish community in both the U.S. and Israel.

In fact my absolutele favorite image regarding this subject in the world is the middle finger with the words 'Circumcise This!' and that is spray painted on a wall in Israel, friends.

Americans are the last country in the western world to still widely practice this ancient ritual that alters the lives of the victims who are forced to begin their existence in cruel, searing pain that would be torturous to a strong, seasoned adult.

More than 100 baby boys in the U.S.A. die from this practice every year and that alone is reason to call it off. None of the statistics are good, there is not a single truth to the fictitious wives tales; God didn't make us who and what we are "except for that one thing" and those who bring up the appendix needn't because there is no excuse.

If you have already put a child through this, then you, Ms. and Mr. Parent, are part of a grave injustice and have committed a Human Rights violation upon your own flesh and blood; somebody you love... you've also conspired to inflict terrible pain upon. You can never take it back. Talk about a hack job. But hey, my first three sons all went through it, and only my youngest avoided the blade. Face it, we're all born ignorant, but damn we have to spread this message and make it burn in people's minds. End the suffering, or in Agron Belica's words, 'Leave Those Babies Alone!' Tim's years as a Human Rights reporter have taken on many dimensions; he has rallied for a long list of cultures and populations and continues to every day, with a strong and direct concentration on the 2009 Genocide of Tamil Hindus and Christians in Sri Lanka. As a result of his long list of reports exposing war crimes against Tamil people, Tim was invited to be the keynote speaker at the FeTNA (Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America) Conference in Baltimore, in July 2012. This is the largest annual gathering of North American Tamils; Tim addressed more than 3000 people and was presented with a traditional Sri Lanka ‘blessed garland’ and a shawl as per the tradition and custom of Tamil Nadu, India.

The notorious list comprising Tim's ancestors includes Pedro de Alvarado, the lieutenant of Hernando Cortez of Spain; King Phillip IV, Eleanor of Aquitaine and William the Conqueror. Perhaps most interestingly, King John; the dark force in the story Robin Hood, and also the last Spanish governor of California, a real person fictionalized as the arch rival of the character in Zorro, are in reality both Tim's multiple-great grandfathers.

In fact on the east coast, Tim's lineage with the Slaughter and King families, pre-dates the Mayflower and several members of his family were soldiers in the Revolutionary War. He says his family's past; some of which is very dark; some quite chivalrous, presents a certain responsibility, and that in part drives his desire to see that people in today's world are not exploited or allowed to suffer in silence as victims of Human Rights violations, as people of previous times were.

Markm August 26, 2012 REALLY! It is skin which is cut off. Having no foreskin is much cleaner! I love it! "Only" skin? What other of your skin have you had cut off? "Cleaner?" Have you had your ears cut off? No more ear wax on the outside. If I wanted to have pieces of my body cut off, I would do it or have it done myself. My Dad was assaulted by two large orderlies when he attempted to prevent the cutter from mutilating me, his first and only son. He, a champion boxer in college, could have dropped them both, which he had done to others, but he knew that this would only have resulted in his arrest - by cut-penis officers most likely. Both of my parents told me that they did not give permission for me to be cut.

i was randomly searching info about the point of circumcision. although i have seen some valid points on both sides. i think people really should stop circumcising their children. they say it can get infected if the child is not circumcised but really i think the only reason it would get infected is from a lack of hygeine. i amnot religious and i seriously despise religion and just recently my boyfriend left the muslim religion for me because he really does not beleive in a god. but he always tells me he wishes he was not circumcised. and i understand fully. there are many reasons not to circumcise your child. and thank you to Agron for pointing out that there is nothing about it in the muslim religion. and "LEAVE THOSE BABIES ALONE!!!!!!"

thank you so much for posting this article and i hope people dont trouble you too much about it...

Editor: Namaste Chesire, thanks for the great comment.

Where is the discussion about the several thousand dollar price that is paid for the foreskin for use in many products INCLUDING women's high-end skin-care products? I am NOT MAKING THIS UP! Why don't you do an article on the big-business from foreskins? "The humble foreskin has long been the source of much controversy and continues today particularly in North America to generate even more unbelievable controversy. The most disturbing and alarming is in the unethical trafficking of neonate foreskins. Not only do parents of North American baby boys have to pay between $200 to $300 to obstetricians to circumcise their boys that no sooner are the circumcised foreskins cut off that they are sold on to bio-engineering and cosmetics companies by the hospitals. The numbers of dollars involved are bewilderingly staggering, and this financial force is one which is providing the funds to continue the spread of medical propaganda advocating circumcision. The resale value of neonate foreskins is astronomically dizzying in that from one boy’s foreskin can be grown bio-engineered skin in a lab to the size of a football field. That’s 4 acres of new skin or around 200,000 units of manufactured skin, which is enough skin to cover about 250 people and sells at $3,000 a square foot. " See: www.foreskin-restoration(dot)net/forum/showthread.php?t=3210 "Foreskin fibroblasts are big business. A fibroblast is a piece of human skin that is used as a culture to grow other skin or cells -- like human yogurt kits. Human foreskin fibroblast is used in all kinds of medical procedures from growing skin for burn victims and for eyelid replacement, to growing skin for those with diabetic ulcers (who need replacement skin to cover ulcers that won't heal), to making creams and collagens in the cosmetics industry (yes, the product that is injected into puffy movie-starlet lips). Foreskin-derived skin, sourced from circumcisions (now considered by many experts to be painful and also unnecessary) is still often considered the "cruelty free" alternative to testing cosmetic products on animals. One foreskin can be used for decades to produce miles of skin, much of which helps people in genuine medical need. And that's the reason one foreskin can generate as much as $100,000: that's not the fee from a one-time sale, but the fees from the fibroblasts that are created from those original skin cells. See:

A former pediatrician at Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City, Dr. Joe Bearman, a Jew who circumcised his natural born son but not his adopted son, once told me that Americans would stop circumcising their sons when insurance stopped paying for it. Happily, in the mid 1990's this began to occur. Sure enough, it was at this point when we began to see a dramatic reassessment of this practice by parents. The movement against infant male genital mutilation is progressing slower than I wish but there has been a great improvement in the past twenty years.

Michelle August 22, 2012 6:35 pm (Pacific time)

Thank you for a great article. I was trained to do infant circumcisions and found it utterly barbaric and heart-wrenching. After leaving residency training, I stopped doing them and left my children whole. I am so tired of hearing the Jews scream "anti-semitism" over this issue when all that does is make people more inclined to dislike the Jews who refuse to address this 'discrepancy' in their so-called peaceful religion. It is extremely arrogant and short-sighted of them to not try to be rational and objective. All they need to do is change the ritual to stop cutting off body parts of helpless infants. Then they make hateful remarks about how uncircumcised males are sub-human. That really makes points for the Jewish religion! NOT!

Editor: I would only caution that we can't classify people of a culture; I believe it is important to note once again that some of our biggest allies in this area are Jewish, thanks for your comment and for sharing .

Tim and Agron,

Great article, message, and video on circumcision.

In America, I believe many people have a form of Stockholm Syndrome as it relates to "experts," the rich and the powerful. People want to identify and/or be accepted by those who hold positions of power. Doctors and religious leaders are considered the "experts." They promote circumcision to well-meaning parents who question this barbaric practice. Sheep follow leaders, even if it means following leaders over a cliff to their death.

People are conditioned and brainwashed. Religious leaders promote brainwashing, often for their own gain. It takes years for some people to break away from the conditioning and become aware, awake and conscious.

We have a "cult" mentality in America. Until individuals become more aware of themselves apart from religious indoctrination (brainwashing), they will follow and obey religious leaders and be separate from divinity, their true self and truth. The teachings of "cults" are often fully presented half-truths and cleverly disguised lies mixed in with a good helping of people's hopes and dreams. Spiritual and mental bondage is often realized by those who live under the "submission" of a religious leader.

When I visited my relatives in Denmark in 1997, they shared with me, "We don't need comedy shows in Denmark, we just watch your American news programs. You are an infantile country that often acts like a 2 year old - believing you are the sheriff of the world. When you stop treating your people like animals, then your citizens will stop acting like animals." They perceive America as a primitive country that is caught up in religious cult mentality, power, control and violence. Hearing about my own life story and the horrors I experienced in America's churches and the court system only validated their beliefs.

We all have to look back on our past and be honest. One year, 10 years, 20 years ago, we were blind to various topic matters, but we honestly sought truth and truth showed up. Even though many people can accept the truth about circumcision, many people cannot. Each one of us is constantly learning daily and some of us are on a faster learning curve than others because we are not shackled by money, greed, power or the approval of friends, family and/or religious leaders.

Stephen Box and his wife should be congratulated for not cutting up their baby. One day their son will thank them for their decision to keep him intact.

"But Stephen and his wife decided not to circumcise their son. They felt they could only justify the operation if they could find a good reason for doing it - and they didn't." read more here about other parents who are saying no to this barbaric practice: "Circumcision, the ultimate parenting dilemma"

Great article. Each article is a learning experience. Thanks for educating me especially on the "bid'ah." Thanks.

An interesting article in the NYT that uses interviews from non-medical Jews to support their racist medical undertaking.

Waleed August 21, 2012 1:33 pm (Pacific time)

As much as this albanian so called muslim irritates me and how much his voice and singing annoys me, he does have me somewhat confused about this whole circumcision thing.

“We have indeed created man in the best of molds.” (Q. 95:4) Also, “the nature framed by God, there is no altering God’s creation.” (Q.30:30); “God is the One who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky as a structure, and He designed you and has perfected your design.” (Q. 40:64)

Wait a minute this is from the Kor'an muslim holy book. So, are muslims now saying that the foreskin is a defect, and god forget to tell us about it? I'm Confused someone help me here

The devil says: “I will command them and they will change God’s creation.” (Q. 4:119)

By circumcising your baby are you not changing what alah created?

So your telling the muslim world that god did not tell Abraham to circumcise his descendants according to the bible or Genesis…it really wasn't part of chapter 17 about abraham? Scratch that…Yahudi scholars are telling that now, and they published the original Genesis which predates the one we have now is all bull shit? ….

Editor: OK, passions run high over this, I have to say that I think Agron sounds awesome, but hey... the point is that he is making a point, and people are listening and questions are to be asked... thanks.

And the pain doesn't end when the wound heals up, it continues throughout life. I know, it still hurts me that an ignorant incompetent doctor mutilated my penis.

Shakema Edwards August 21, 2012 10:00 am (Pacific time)

Listen this is what im gonna say about this whole CIRCUMCISION situation what i believe is its very painful for the little babies and little boys and to see the actual torture and pain that they go through is down right heart broken and i have seen somethin on tv one day and the men were crowded around a little boy and two men were holdin him down while another man takes the skin off of his penis and to see the pain on his face was priceless and the men did not stop he was practically pleadin for the man to stop cause he was in so much of pain it was so crazy i could barely watch it anymore but thats what i feel about circumcision it is a hate crime on little young men and it should be stop IMMEDIATELY

Joelah Carter August 21, 2012 8:56 am (Pacific time)

It seems the Muslim world is quiet on this subject. I doubt any of them will challenge you on this. If they truly believe in the word of Allah they should stop this practice. (However they don't really read the Qur'an (except during Ramadan) so they wont stop like P. Diddy from Bad Boy.
