Albany Police Seize 8 Pounds of MarijuanaSalem-News.comPolice say an initial arrest led to many more charges.
(ALBANY, Ore.) - Albany Police say they received a call of public indecency Monday at noon, involving a male in a vehicle in the Heritage Mall parking lot located at 1895 SE 14th Avenue. Responding officers found the vehicle disabled and blocking traffic in the 1800 block of 14th Avenue. Officers spoke with the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, who identified himself verbally as 25-year old Albany resident Cain Calderon. "During a search of the vehicle, officers located a large duffle bag that contained over 8 pounds of marijuana. As a result of this call, Cain Calderon was lodged in the Linn County Jail." Calderon is charged with Public Indecency, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Later in the evening Albany Police Detectives conducted a search of Cain Calderon's residence located in the 3400 block of SW Pacific Boulevard, according to Captain Eric Carter with Albany Police. "Albany Police Detectives seized over 2 pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, scales, packaging material, drug paraphernalia, a fraudulent Social Security Card, and a fraudulent Resident Alien Card." Carter says that as a result of the search of Cain Calderon's residence, he was lodged on the following additional charges: Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Cocaine, Unlawful Delivery of Cocaine and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. The street value of the marijuana is estimated at over $30,000.
