(SALEM) - A video news report by Tim King on hate protestors this weekend in Hood River, Oregon earned recognition on www.livedigital.com as a "Top-50 Most Viewed" video. The story centers around the antics of a Kansas hate group from the Westboro Baptist Church that did their best to disrupt the funeral of an Oregon sailor over the past weekend. Reporter Tim King produced the nine minute 26 second report and it was added to livedigital.com and Salem-News.com mid way through the day last Sunday. "I was so happy to hear that our work is getting out there and competing well against the hundreds of thousands of other videos on livedigital. The ranking also speaks volumes about how Americans resent the actions of these whacky zealots who actually try to hassle the families." Livedigital.com is a video/photo site that allows people to post their work with little or no strings attached. The video screens actually appear on the story page with no extra download, you just hit the play button and watch the clip or program. King says it has worked out well, and livedigital.com is allowing Salem-news.com news video reports an entirely new and different venue when it comes to gaining a worldwide audience. He says that eventually, there will be multiple options for video viewers, but for now www.livedigital.com has been excellent. Tim King says stories like the one on the Kansas protestors are necessary to show how hateful fringe religious fanatics can behave, "It's like their efforts go into finding the most hateful tactics possible, it is outrageous, it is deplorable, and it is one of those moments where a news reporter has no desire to tell the 'other side of the story' but inevitably does so in the process anyway." Tim, once again, thank you for the story. I think that it should be ranked much higher, but at least you are gaining the recognition you deserve

Tim, I tried to remain objective and watched the Hate Group Video again for the third time. I have to say that it is the very best and am not surprised that it received the recognition that it did. If anything, I will be surprised if it does not create a standard for main-stream media. It doesn't get any better.
