Salem's Fall Leaf Haul Set for First Saturday in DecemberSalem-News.comThe equipment, operators, and hauling costs are being donated by the Mid-Valley Garbage & Recycling Association, and the disposal fees have been waived by Marion County Public Works Environmental Services.
(SALEM, Ore.) - The Fall Leaf Haul, a free leaf collection and composting program, is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at three collection sites around the City. The program is being organized by the City of Salem, the Mid-Valley Garbage & Recycling Association, and Marion County Public Works–Environmental Services to provide a means for Salem Residents to compost their leaves and grass clippings (no limbs accepted!). The program is designed for Salem residents only (no commercial landscapers, please). Food or cash donations will be taken for the Marion-Polk Food Share. Cash donations will also be taken to support the Parks Tradition Fund. The equipment, operators, and hauling costs are being donated by the Mid-Valley Garbage & Recycling Association, and the disposal fees have been waived by Marion County Public Works Environmental Services. The sites are organized and staffed by Neighborhood Associations and service organization volunteers. The 2008 sites include: - Oregon State Fairgrounds, Lana Avenue Gate, Lana Avenue NE & Silverton Road NE - Sprague High School, 2373 Kuebler Road S - Wallace Marine Park, East end of Glen Creek Road NW - Keizer Little League Field at 5245 Ridge Drive
