McMinnville Police Investigate Death of Six-Year Old girlSalem-News.comAn examination of the victim by the State Medical Examiner's office is scheduled for today.
(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - McMinnville Police and Fire Departments responded to 600 NE Summerfield Street December 2nd over a report that a 6-year old female child was unconscious and not breathing. Shortly after arrival ar 5:06 p.m., medical and law enforcement personnel learned that the 6-year old had been found with items around her neck strangling her. "The victim, Samantha Kuberski, was transported to the Willamette Valley Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased," McMinnville Police Captain Dennis Marks, said. "Initial information revealed that the victim's mother was home with all four children at the time of incident, and the father arrived home just as medics were transporting the victim to the hospital." He says brief statements were obtained from both parents, and they were given a ride to the hospital by Officer Formway. Marks says a thorough scene examination was conducted, and both parents were interviewed at the hospital by detectives. The McMinnville Police Department is being assisted by DHS child welfare protective service personnel and Juliette's House and the incident remains under investigation. An examination of the victim by the State Medical Examiner's office is scheduled for today. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Detective Sam Elliott at (503) 434-7307.
