Egypt's Nude Blogger Brutalized in Tahrir Square

Israeli women rally for the college student 'crucified' in Tahrir Square.

Aliaa Elmahdy being drug through the square by supposed moralists; all male, all abusive, to an Egyptian woman.
Aliaa Elmahdy being drug through the square by supposed moralists; all male, all abusive, to an Egyptian woman.

(SALEM) - A young woman in Egypt whose free soul might better have been born in Berkley rather than Cairo, was 'crucified' in Tahrir Square this week by men who identified her as the nude activist blogger who has taken a stand against rampant sexism in this mostly Muslim country.

Easily spotted and vulnerable, Aliaa Elmahdy, was targeted, bound, and drug through the crowd of demonstrators in Egypt. However she is taken to what appears to be a medical team and it seems clear from the video that those personnel, male and female, began protecting her as soon as she was delivered to them, I hope that is the case.

Thousands of Egyptians erupted in anger over the nude photos of Aliaa that have been stirring controversy in this ancient place for more than a month, yet what possible justification is there? She is a human being, she wasn't nude in the square, and her nudity has not been presented as pornography.

Our attention is frequently assigned to the crimes of Israel, yet I have never seen the Israelis brutalize one of their own women in this way and in that respect, even the Zionists have an edge up on these Islamic protestors. In the most minimalistic terminology, they need to mellow out.

And speaking of Israel, in solidarity with Aliaa Elmahdy, a group of Israeli women have also stripped their clothes off in a show of solidarity. They aren't in trouble with their local populace, nobody is trying to hunt them down.

Inspired by 20-year-old Aliaa Elmahdy's bold move, the 40 Israelis posed naked for a 'copycat' shot -
holding a banner to cover their modesty. The sign read 'Homage to Aliaa El Mahdi. Sisters in Israel'
with the slogan 'Love without Limits', written in Arabic and Hebrew.

As far as I know, Aliaa, a 20-year old college student, had not yet been brutalized by the thugs in Tarhir Square when these women posed for their nude photo. I suspect that their support will be much stronger now, as support for those political revolutionary protestors wanes and encounters confusion and doubt as a result of their defining their priorities in this way.

The women supporting Aliaa are not just in Egypt, but also in Europe and she has caught the attention of the founders of the Slut Walk in which women march in declaration of their humanity and, dressed in very little, essentially remind men that they have no right, not ever at any time, to 'take' the humanity of women by forcing sexual acts upon them. It's all one big ball of wax anyway, nobody is more perverted than the pseudo religious weirdos, period.

It doesn't matter where or when; pilgrims in Salem burning witches, Taliban in Kabul attacking women for showing skin from beneath their burqa, assholes in Tarhir Square attacking a defenseless woman because she showed some of her God-given human flesh in a photo. It isn't evil, it is how we are born.

Of course she isn't the first woman to be brutalized in the Cairo square; the only qualification that seemed necessary so far, was for a person to be female and western and they were in trouble, particularly if they were reporters.

It reminded me of the level of education I saw in far-flung parts of Afghanistan, where questions about girls attending school were greeted with smiles of amusement.

This is the dark heart of the Middle east and the same brutal mindset that allows female genital mutilation (FGM) to still be a dark age practice in the 21st Century.

Because of Zionist violence and confusion, and U.S. support and hate for all of the wrong things, we haven't been able to find and implement peaceful and logical solutions to the various problems involving women.

Free societies are mandatory, the nude human body is not 'porno' and bastards that raise their hands to women aren't even men in the first place, got that?

I am glad our writer, Dr. Ashraf Ezzat in Alexandria, Egypt, covered this event. It is sad that Salem-News.com is one of the few western news agencies even looking at this huge event.

I see why they want women to wear burqua's, no self control.

Editor: I think you are hitting the nail on the head, who is responsible for this behavior... men;  Women can dress in ways that are conservative, head scarves are worn in Mexico, Israel and dozens of other countries.

Since the nude human body is not porno, then why are you blurring her breasts like it is?
hypocrite!

Tim King: No way, it is the only one I had, and out of respect, discretion has a place too.
