(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Police say a suspicious envelope was received by the Governor's office at the Oregon State Capitol Friday afternoon.

The envelope was not opened, according to a news release issued today. Investigators say that as a precaution, about 10 - 15 individuals who were in the area were taken to a separate room.

The envelope was secured, removed from the building for further inspection, and it has been turned over to the FBI who will be the lead investigating agency.

Salem Fire Department Haz Mat personnel, Oregon State Police detectives and Capitol Mall troopers responded to assist.
