Fatal Shooting in Tualitan Under InvestigationSalem-News.comThe man said the weapon unintentionally discharged as his wife entered the room, striking her in the abdomen area.
(TUALATIN, Ore.) - Tualatin Police are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Kimberly Lynn Osbrink of Tualatin. It happened occurred Sunday at 10:30 PM. Investigators say they determined that the woman had been shot by her husband, 24-year-old Ryan Michael Osbrink, who had signed an offer of employment with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. His first day of employment was tomorrow, December 19th. Officers responding to the call arrived at the apartment and found Mr. Osbrink administering first aid to his wife, who was rushed by ambulance to OHSU, where she later succumbed to her injuries. It is reported that Ryan Osbrink was practicing drawing his pistol from a holster when it unintentionally discharged as his wife entered the room, striking her in the abdomen area. His hiring with the Clark County Sheriff's Office has been delayed pending the outcome of the investigation. Story continues below Investigators say the weapon involved was an H & K model USP, .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol that Mr. Osbrink personally owned. They added that he had not been issued any weapons or other equipment from the Clark County Sheriff's Office. At this point, the matter remains under investigation by the Tualatin Police Department. The completed investigation will be forwarded to the Washington County District Attorney's Office for review.
