(SALEM, Ore.) - Do you know somebody who doesn't have Christmas handled? If you think $250 would help them, then write to us and tell us why. The money will be provided to one family through the generous heart of the Anonymous Angel, a "Secret Santa' who desires to share her good fortune with others.

Many of us have a neighbor who is in need. Many families are hard pressed to make ends meet, particularly at this time of year. We need you to write to us at newsroom@salem-news.com and tell us about that family in need that you know. We will select one family and a $250 money order will be sent to them.

Salem-News.com is honored to help this anonymous donor reach somebody who needs help. It is not a new program, and she has touched lives before with her generosity.

Who is the Anonymous Angel?

We can't tell you exactly, but we can tell you that the Angel is a soldier's wife whose husband has spent recent days on the most dangerous part of the earth. She makes these special cash gifts available to families that haven't seen the blessings that her family has.

This 'Secret Santa' wants to hear from people in need, and wants the $250 to make a real difference for a family. If you think you know somebody whose life would be changed by $250, then write to us now, telling us who and why. Unless the family agrees otherwise, we will keep their name private. We do however, want to know why this particular family or individual is especially deserving and we want to know what kind of difference the $250 will mean to them.

So here is your opportunity to help the Anonymous Angel perform a random act of kindness. Please write to us now and with the Anonymous Angel's help, we can collectively help one more family enjoy the holidays.

To clarify: This is a one time gift of $250 being provided by a private individual. If you know a family in need, then write to us at newsroom@salem-news.com and tell us about that family. We will select one name from those that are sent in. Please be sure that your request is for another family and not self solicited.

The deadline is 12-23-07.

Vic are you sending supplies over to these people you are so concerned about? If you are, that's great because then we know your not all just talk, right?!

I have sent supplies over to Afghanistan to help the children there as well as widows. I just wish to also help someone stateside as well this year!

How about an Iraqi family or an Afghani family? It seems fitting to me since her husband is part of the invading army, to help those injured, displaced, widowed or orphaned by the US military. Seems to me, her heart is in the right place, however, and am thankful for empathetic people like this!
