Police Investigating Christmas Day Crash

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time investigators said.

(SALEM) - On Monday, December 25th, shortly after midnight, Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a reported single motor vehicle crash.

The crash occurred on Delaney Road SE near the intersection of Sunnyside Road SE south of Salem.

The 21-year-old male driver of the 2006 Subaru Impreza, who has been identified as Jason Donald Taylor was transported by ambulance to the Salem Hospital for evaluation.

The 18-year-old female passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. The deceased female was identified as Samantha Taylor.

The driver and deceased passenger are brother and sister.

The crash is currently being investigated by members of the Marion County Multi Agency CRASH investigation team.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time investigators said.
