The group plans to explore opportunities for sustainability partnership projects in Salem and the region. The State of Oregon and many Salem organizations are already leading the way in sustainability efforts.

They say there are several summit participants who have made significant sustainability efforts in Salem.

A team of staff, named the Environmental Action Team, are tracking performance of these goals.

The City is also in the early stages of developing a sustainability strategy for economic development and community programs.
