Chicken Breasts Recalled Nationwide due to Possible Listeria Contamination

Two brands are affected by the recall.

Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea

(ATLANTA) - Kraft Foods has issued a voluntary recall for 52,650 lbs. of fully cooked chicken breasts strips with rib meat that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Carolina Culinary Foods produced the chicken strips for Oscar Meyer and is marketed in 6 oz. packages as "Oscar Meyer/ Louis Rich Chicken Breast Strips with Rib Meat, Grilled, Fully Cooked - Ready to Eat."

The front of each package has the establishment number "P-19676" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The back of each package has a "Use By" date of 19 April 2007.

The code "19 APR 2007" appears on each case.

The chicken strips were produced on Jan. 9th, 2007 and distributed to retail establishments nationwide.

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a potentially fatal disease.

If you have ANY of these symptoms you should seek medical advice immediately.

Kraft says if you have a package of the affected chicken, you can return it to the store where it was purchased for a refund.

Continued odd-area similar situations reported in media make it likely this due mostly to consequences in many states of GOP-cabal funding slashes via myth of "small govt." and "save $$$". As demonstrated in Oregon, that has unavoidable dangerous impacts on programs, many in other states on food-chain.

M-S: NOT likely to be so obvious if an attack. Such known to be in subversive plans since War 1, but at more vulnerable points in food-chain. More likely consequence of longtime cutdowns on regulation and surveillance to make sure it is done-right. We allow stupidity favoring corporate structure at our long-term very-high costs.

Why in the world would it be intentional?! Just in the lost revenue alone, that makes no sense. First you've got every package on the shelf that must come off unsold. Then you've got the fear factor...there are certain to be some people who refuse to buy this brand for a very long time just "to make sure."

Henry, et al, could this be intentional?, like another attack so to speak? At first it didn't occur to me during the E-cola outbreak recently (lettuce), but this last week or so seems more than just a cooincidence.,
