Oregon Revenue Field Office in Salem Provides Tax HelpSalem-News.comTaxpayers are served on a first come, first served basis.
(SALEM) - The Oregon Department of Revenue's Salem Field Office is offering a free AARP-sponsored Tax-Aide session every Wednesday through April 11th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Salem field office manager Vicki Abraham says a volunteer preparer will help taxpayers fill out and file their tax returns, "This is just part of our effort to provide the best possible customer service to Oregon taxpayers." You must bring: • valid photo identification (passport, driver's license, U.S. government-issued photo ID card); • all W-2s and 1099 forms; • Social Security cards and/or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)cards for yourself and all your dependents; • a copy of your 2005 tax return, if you filed; and • any other information needed to complete your income tax returns. The walk-in session is first come, first served. Abraham says you may bring your own interpreter. The Department of Revenue's Salem field office is located at 4275 Commercial St. SE, suite 180, in the Kelly Green office complex next to the Windermere Building. Business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. For more information, downloadable forms and instructions, or to check the status of your refund, visit oregon.gov/DOR. You may also call the department's customer service line, 503-378-4988, or toll-free from an Oregon prefix, 1-800-356-4222. Because of the high volume of calls the department receives this time of year, wait times maybe extended. Spanish-speaking taxpayers may call 503-945-8618. For TTY (hearing or speech impaired only), call 1-800-886-7204 (toll-free from an Oregon prefix).
