Newberg-Dundee Police Make Arrest in Abuse CaseSalem-News.comFloyd Finsand's bail has been set at $1,810,000.
(NEWBERG, Ore.) - A 60-year old man from Dundee faces 30 charges relating to the alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year old girl that detectives say took place over a three year period in the man's home. Tim Weaver with Newberg-Dundee Police says detectives received information Friday about a 14-year old minor child who had disclosed several incidents of sexual abuse. "Through the investigation, detectives learned the alleged sexual activity started when she was 12-years of age and most events took place at the suspect's Dundee residence." Weaver says that following the initial investigation, 60-year old Floyd Alan Finsand was arrested and lodged at the Yamhill County Corrections Facility in McMinnville. He has been charged with 10 counts of First Degree Sexual Abuse, 10 counts of Second Degree Rape, and 10 counts of Second Degree Sodomy. Finsand's bail has been set at $1,810,000. Weaver says this girl may not be the only child with ties to Finsand, and they want to know if there are others who may have also suffered sexual abuse. "During the investigation, detectives became suspicious about statements made by Finsand and believe there may be more victims. The investigation is continuing." Anyone with information that may relate to Mr. Finsand is encouraged to contact Detective Todd Baltzell, (503) 538-8321.
