Death Investigation Tied to 2007 Missing Person Investigation

A Missing Persons detective responded to the scene and the case is under investigation.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Officers from the Portland Police Bureau say a death investigation that was launched this weekend is associated with a Missing Persons report from two years ago.

Portland Police Sergeant Greg Stewart says Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers responded to the 14700 block of S.E. Rhone Street on a death investigation.

He said officers arriving on the scene at that location were directed to the remains of an unidentified person.

"The location was associated with a missing persons report from 2007," Stewart said.

A Missing Persons detective responded to the scene and the case is under investigation. There were no other details to release at this point, we will keep you updated.
