More Rain and Snow Today in the Northwest (VIDEO)Salem-News.comAnother potent storm is on its way for Wednesday.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Weather forecasters report that it will be another day of rain and snow in the Northwest as the latest storm moves in from the Pacific. Over the next several days, the storm track in the west will shift north toward British Columbia. Rain today will fall along the coast of Washington, Oregon, and northern California before reaching central California by Wednesday. Snow will fall in the Cascades and Intermountain West and will spread into the western Rockies by tonight. Wind gusts along the coast will top 40 mph, while as much as an inch of rain could fall in some coastal areas. Some areas in the mountains could receive another foot of snow on top of the massive snow amounts that fell over the weekend. AccuWeather.com Western Weather Expert Paul Yeager said in his blog that another potent storm is on its way and due to arrive on Wednesday. "While the next storm will be potent, it will not be as strong as the strong as the storm that pounded the West (especially California) late last week...," Yeager said. "There will again be heavy snow in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest from Wednesday night through much of Thursday." High pressure building over the Four Corners will lead to pleasant conditions through most of California. Over the next few days, the storm track will push to the north, sending new Pacific storms toward western Canada.
