First Woman Dean Named at Willamette`s School of ManagementSalem-News.comHer accomplishments include the Willamette University Administrator of the Year award and United Methodist Award for Exemplary Teaching.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Debra J. Ringold has been appointed dean of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University. Ringold, a professor of marketing at Willamette since 1994, will lead Willamette’s MBA and Executive Development programs, expanding the visibility and viability of the Atkinson School. She is the first woman to serve as dean in the school’s 33-year history. In announcing his appointment of Ringold, Willamette University M. Lee Pelton said, "I have the utmost confidence in Debra’s capacity to provide the leadership that is needed. I look forward to working with her and with the Atkinson community as we work toward common objectives." Ringold completed her tenure as chairperson of the Board of Directors for the American Marketing Association last summer, and was recently appointed to the U.S. Census Bureau Advisory Committee. Her accomplishments include the Willamette University Administrator of the Year award and United Methodist Award for Exemplary Teaching. Ringold`s research interests include integrated marketing communications, marketing and public policy, non-profit marketing and research for marketing decision making.
