(LEBANON, Ore.) - Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports a medical examiner has ruled the death of a 14 year old Lebanon boy as accidental.

Sunday, at about 12:30 PM, neighborhood children who were playing hide and seek discovered the body of Quentin Alexander Thacker in a large vacant lot at the intersection of 9th and C Streets in Lebanon. His bicycle was found nearby.

The investigation by Linn County Sheriff's detectives revealed that Mr. Thacker had fallen face down into a drainage ditch.

Hypothermia also may have been a contributing factor as the temperature was in the mid 20's that night. Alcohol is believed to have contributed to the death. This will be confirmed by toxicology testing, which typically takes about a month.

Mr. Thacker had been last seen in the neighborhood at about 9:30 PM.

The case remains open pending additional interviews with witnesses and the results of the toxicological examination.

The deceased was taken to Fisher's Funeral Home in Albany pending further arrangements.
