Oregon Man Faces Sex Abuse Allegations Stemming from MySpace

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of a 20-year old Wilsonville man for what Spokesman Jim Strovink describes as "an assortment of crimes involving at least two young girls between the ages of 15 and 17."

Kyle James Green is believed to have befriended underage girls on the internet using MySpace, in public libraries and through introductions from acquaintances according to Strovink.

"It is these underage girls Green is suspected of targeting for his specific crimes."

Investigators are concerned additional victims may exist and are encouraging potential victims to come forward with any information pertaining to Green, who is reported to be unemployed, and the resident of an apartment located next to Wilsonville High School.

This apartment complex is identified as the Boulder Creek Apartments at 28830 SW Ashland Drive in Wilsonville. Kyle Green rents unit number 293 in this Boulder Creek apartment complex.

Prior to moving to the Wilsonville area in early 2007 Green was a resident in Oregon City.

Without offering details, investigators say additional victims are providing information and more criminal cases are expected to be submitted to the Clackamas County District Attorney in the very near future. Kyle Green was arrested June 25th by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators and lodged in the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Jail, for the related charges identified as:

Total bail is set at $250,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for this matter on July 3rd, 2007, in the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon City.

It is important to point out that in Oregon, the crime of "Rape 3" is often not indicative of forcible sex. Oregon lawmakers decided a number of years ago to categorize any sex act between a minor and an adult as "rape" whether or not force was used.

The theory behind the wording is that no person under the age of 18 has the ability to provide legal consent. In many other states, the age of consent is 16 or even lower.

If Oregon were to reclassify the act of consensual sex between an adult and a minor as "statutory rape" then a good deal of confusion would thus be eliminated, and proper emphasis would again be placed on the word "rape" as a sexual act that involves violence or force.

Also, the crime of "Sodomy" in Oregon relates to any sexual act that is not intercourse. Again sodomy is a reference for anal sex, but Oregon and many other states in this event, choose the word "sodomy" to describe oral and other types of sexual contact.

Police hope that anyone with information related to Kyle James Green are encouraged to contact Detective Christie Fryett, at 503-557-2876 – reference CCSO case number 07-20778.

i am sorry to see so many free kyle supporters. as much as you are determined to retain your belief he is innocent, i can personally tell you he was not. i was part of that trial. it was the hardest, most painful, and humiliating experience of my lifetime. it was not easy, and without the knowledge that myself and the other women were telling the truth i would not have made it through. kyle is a bad, mainpulative man. and just becasue he didnt rape you whe you were friends, doesnt mean he didnt rape other people. and he deserved the sentence he received

WOW!!! Some oddd "facts" people think they have...First Kyle was NEVER abused! His Father is NOT Manic! He was NOT convicted of 5 Rape charges, but 4, there were not 20 girls testified or interviewed, 9 "victims" 3 or 4 were girlfriends her were forced to testify. 3 of the 4 "rape victims" claimed to have been "forced to have sex" yet were told he would be gentle, and cared for them, they were not threatened, forced, held down, or hurt, then after the incident they contacted him again to go to the mall, sleep over with his step sister, or watch another Ducks game with him...I have never been raped, but I'm sure I would never contact my "rapist" to hang out again! I listened to and watched EVERY day of the trial, I heard the jury be instructed to have their answer by end of business Friday, as the attorney and Judge had prior commiments for the following week! I saw 1 girl struggle to shed a few tears on the stand, and 1 "rape 1 victim" even said "Hi Jim" very chipper to Kyles father in the court room! They sat in there as if it were a class assembly giggling and whispering with their friends and boyfriends! Some myspace comments even joked about the dance team and Kyle Green...I would not joke and giggle via myspace about someone who raped me! Another thing is the 15 year old persued him as he was 19! He was a bit of a player, kind of a womanizer, and yeah probably a slut, not a rapist! He talked girls out of their virginity, not forced them into anything! He dated alot of girls, their friends, and usually stared up a new one before ending the previous one, not cool, not nice, very hurtful, but NOT RAPE!!! Myspace was the thing then, now it is Facebook...contact via social networking is not "targeting" the fact of living next to a school that is surrounded by the majority of apartments on that side of town also doesn't make him a preditor! I a was 23year old woman who had my 1st child w/ a 17 year old boy, yet no one thought anything of it...most of the stories did not happen while he was 19, they dated back up to 5 years, so througout trial we saw pictures of 14-17 year old girls while we look at a 20 year old Kyle (arrested at 19, turned 21 in jail, now 24) so a preditor "man" he was not, he was mearly a boy interested in girls, some a few years younger...Do any of you guys 18-25 ever think to ask a girl for her ID? Seems assenine don't it...Better think twice...Piss a girl off, break her heart, cheat on her, or get caught, she will say ANYTHING to save HER ass, and guess what...Victims Act says her promisquity is not allowed to be entered into evidence, yet his is full dislosure...

I believe that kyle never did these things. I know him better than anyone that posted anything. We are such good friends. And NEVER tried anything on me. He had asked to kiss me but I rejected him and he was fine with it. Never pushed it. He is a very respectful guy that I trust a million %. I know for a fact that all those girls that testified lied about it. I had ask one of the girls a yr later and she said she lied about it because she was mad he didn't wanna be with her anymore. And his ex girlfriend katie even told him wheb he broke up with her that she was gunna pin rape against him. I hate all the girl that lied about this crap juss because he didn't wanna be with them. They don't realize what they did. He will be 53 when he gets out... his whole life is ruined. He will never have kids/ family of his own. His father was very unstable. He had been put into psych units on numerous occasions. They say his father has ADD, and Manic Depression. Maybe Kyle has some of these problems too. Making him appear poorly. I feel that his father may have been involved with the situations more then Kyle has lead the police to beleive. I feel that he is taking some of the time for his father and it is not fair. Kyle deserves a fair life. He is very young and had a very abusive father.

you 'friends' or 'aquaintences' of kyle obviously didnt get to know him well enough to know he had this coming, it was only a matter of time. i met him beginning of high school and was a couple years younger. we were pretty good friends for a year or two but he started trying sexual advances, kissing/licking my ear in class, trying to put his hand down the front/back of my pants in class, etc... That kind of thing continued even more if we hung out outside of school. I quickly stopped being friends with him because it made me extremely uncomfortable and didnt matter what i said to him, he wouldnt stop. After I repeatedly told him to stop with no luck, I had no choice but to go to school officials who immediately brought the police over. From there, there was a restraining order, to which he would continue to yell obscene/rude things down the hall way/across class at school. Then slowly, more and more girls started sharing these kinds of stories. And I believe every one of them. Obviously some of them are probably more case worthy than others, but either way, hes done this kind of stuff enough times to deserve to pay a little. Its not like he has the death sentence. He'll get over it, get out, serve his time, and hopefully learn his lesson. If he doesnt, i hope he lands right back in jail. Its too bad though. He had a lot of potential to be a good person/awesome friend.

Done deal. Kyle was convicted of 5 Rape in the 1st degree charges. Mdoneil, Rape 3 is not a crime in 95 % of states. Since it carries the name "Rape" in it, which carries a heavy connotation, it should be clarified for the national audience. As a news reporter I have covered a story involving multiple sex crimes that a teacher committed against his middle school students. Because "rape" is used for every single sex act that was consensual, the fact that one of the young girls did not consent was lost in translation, so to speak. I just think that "statutory" defines more clearly what the crime is.

This is a press release that was sent out earlier and I apologize for not having gone over it better, the extra use of commas has been corrected.

It is not illegal to name the residence of a suspect in a crime after that individual has been arrested and charged. We only list it in this event because the police are seeking more possible victims, and identifying the location can sometimes help.

Sorry that my clarification of Oregon law is taken as editorializing, it just seems necessary to present the charges as possibly not having involved an actual act of rape.
