Oregon Marine Dies in Iraq

DoD Identifies Marine Casualty from Grants Pass.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lance Corporal Juan M. Garcia Schill, 20, of Grants Pass, Oregon died July 2nd while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.

Juan Garcia was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.

He was based out of Twentynine Palms, California.
