Historic Restaurant on Oregon Coast Burns to the Ground

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore. ) - A historic Lincoln City Restaurant burned to the ground Thursday afternoon.

North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District Number One crews responded to the Crab Pot Restaurant just after 3:00 p.m. Highway 101 had to be shutdown in both directions for nearly two hours due to heavy smoke, and while crews battled the fire.

The building, built in 1929, was first a fish market before becoming a restaurant.

Fire investigators say the fire may have started in the rear of the building, but the investigation is continuing.

The Crab Pot Restaurant was located at 6019 SW Hwy 101, in Lincoln City.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries battling the blaze.
