Homicide Investigation Underway in Clackamas County

The type and nature of the injuries the two victims received are being held back due to the investigation, at this time.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a large fight this morning at 12:49 a.m. at the Monterey Springs Apartments, 8640 SE Causey Ave, Happy Valley, Oregon. The fight reportedly involved 10 to 15 people, located in the street near the apartments.

Detective Jeffrey Green with the Clackamas Sheriff's Office, says deputies arrived within a couple of minutes of the dispatch and found all parties from the fight were gone from the scene with the exception of a severely injured male.

"Deputies requested fire and ambulance to respond to the scene for a victim. The victim was entered into the trauma system and transported to an area hospital. The victim died at the hospital," he said.

"There was a second male with minor injuries that was located in the area. He taken to an area hospital. This person was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries."

Green says that individual's name is not being released at this time due to the investigation.

The name of the deceased person will be released once he is positively identified and the next of kin been notified. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the actual cause of death.

The type and nature of the injuries the two victims received are being held back due to the investigation, at this time. Green says no suspect or suspects have been identified as of yet.

"Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. They are attempting to identify all the persons involved in the incident and what caused the incident to occur."

In the meanwhile, detectives are asking for anyone who can provide additional information to the incident to call the Clackamas Sheriff's Office.

Green says further information will be released as it develops
