(SALEM, Ore.) - The Beaverton Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating 84 year old Elmer Wallace Nordness: "Wally" to his friends and family. He was last seen at this evening at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Mr. Nordness has taken his car and is believed to be driving around the Beaverton area. His car is described as a light tan, four door 1993 Buick LaSabre with Oregon license plate ZLG860.

Mr. Nordness' family is greatly concerned for his safety as he suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia like symptoms. This evening, just prior to leaving, he appeared extremely disoriented and confused. He had been talking to his wife about going to visit his mother in Wisconsin; however, she passed some time ago.

Mr. Nordness also suffers from memory loss and eye problems, making it very difficult to see well enough to drive at night or remember where he is.

There are no known destinations he would be enroute to and the places he frequents have already been checked.

Mr. Nordness is a white adult male, 6'3", 165 lbs with grey hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing red pajama bottoms, a black checkered shirt and a blue jacket: shoes are unknown. A photograph of Mr. Nordness and a car similar to his have been attached.

The Beaverton Police Department is asking anyone who sees Mr. Nordness or his car to call 911.
