Police Find Boys Abandoned in Vehicle; Father ArrestedSalem-News.comIt remains unclear why the children were left in the car alone.
(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested the father of two infant boys after he abandoned them while they slept in a vehicle in the driveway of a home on Mink Ct. NE. Marion County Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Rau says deputies responded to the home just after 1:00 AM Tuesday morning after the homeowner found the two boys sleeping inside a Purple 1996 Hyundai Accent two door. Then just before 8:00 AM, deputies responded to 4295 Trapper Dr NE after Sean Hammack, the homeowner, reported that he and his wife had found a man sleeping in thier SUV parked inside the garage of their home. The man was identified as 33-year-old Blaine Danley, of Salem. Danley confirmed that he was the father of the two children found abandoned just a block away Rau said. The children had been in the custody of their father for the past month. The children, who deputies said were a bit scared, and kept asking for daddy, were taken into protective custody. It remains unclear why the children were left in the car alone. Detectives are looking into drug and alcohol use. Danley is currently logged in the Marion County Jail on Burglary charges. Criminal charges connected with abandonment of the children will be forthcoming Rau said. Detectives have identified 26-year-old Summer Clyborne as the mother. They located her on Mink Ct. NE Tuesday, but have yet to speak to her about the incident. Related
