Clackamas County deputies raided a house in Milwaukie they say served as the base of operations for a prostitution business that advertised on the Internet.

"Clackamas County Sheriffs office received information that there was some blatant advertising being conducted on 'Craigslist' related to prostitution," said Det. Jim Strovink.

A search warrant was served on a house as 3233 SE Park Avenue in Milwaukie, where deputies say they found drug paraphernalia, several computers, fax machines, money, credit cards, and "printed documents."

"The residence in Milwaukie was the base of operations," said Strovink. "They were quite busy."

Deputies booked 41-year old Jimmy Rodger Varner and 22-year old Randi Jo Goodwin on charges of promoting prostitution. Both are scheduled to appear in Clackamas County Circuit Court on August 23.

"The investigation continues, and additional arrests are quite possible," said Strovink.

I'm sure this is what Neal intended to say, fully agreeing with your logic! , and futhermore, I look forwrd to even more of your well thought out, researched comments. And the prison comment staggered me in it's simplicity, staring us in the face all these years! The thought that we as citizens of conscience,(speaking for myself of course) would interfere with the free expression of murderers, rapists and violent thugs, (male and female), by sending them off to a cruel fate of incarceration, where these members of society are restrained from these expressions., is appalling! So I of course fully concur! I hope they express themselves near your front yard, out of gratitude for your concern. These are misunderstood individuals only trying to "express" themselves. Thank you very much.

Neal, I thought you said get rid of prohibitions in all contexts. Murderers, rapists and violent thugs are simply expressing themselves against a societal prohibition on murder, rape and violence. Why should they be the ones in prison?

Just more proof that Prohibition, as a concept, does not work, never has worked and never will work regardless of the context it is applied. Take out Sally Surething to a $100 dinner and sex is ok... just give her the $100 for sex and it is a crime. Can you say "semantics"? I knew that you could. We are truly the Land of the Free, unless what you want offends some hypocritical moralist somewhere that is. Think of how much lower taxes would be if we stopped Prohibition on all contexts and simply regulated and taxed these popular venues. Think about gangs and organized crime without all their cash cows. Think how much safer we would be with murderers, rapists and violent thugs in prison cells now filled to overflowing with 'Prohibition criminals". Ah well...
