(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Columbia County Sheriff's Deputies--with the help of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office--are searching the area of Collins Beach on Sauvie Island for two missing six-year-old children. Public safety personnel from both counties are responding to the scene to search for the children--a boy and a girl-- reported missing at 6:20 p.m. this evening.

Initial reports show that the boy was wearing black shorts with a white stripe. The girl was last seen wearing a pink swimsuit and shorts.

"Details are sketchy at this time," says Columbia County Sheriff Jeff Dickerson. "More information will be released as it becomes available."
