(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts has assured President George Bush that he was doing well, and a Supreme Court spokeswoman said he is leaving the hospital a day after suffering a seizure at his summer home in Maine.

Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said the 52-year-old Roberts was being released on Tuesday from the hospital in Maine, where he was rushed by ambulance after the Monday afternoon seizure that caused him to fall on a dock.

She said Roberts suffered only minor scrapes in the fall and was going to continue his vacation.

Roberts was appointed to the Supreme Court by Bush.

He took his seat on September 29th, 2005, succeeding William Rehnquist, who died of cancer.

White House spokesman Tony Snow said Bush called Roberts on Tuesday morning to check on his condition.

"The chief justice assured him he's doing fine," Snow told reporters.

Arberg said Roberts had a similar seizure in 1993.
