(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - 26 brand new cars on a lot in Wilsonville had their windshields smashed out Saturday night and received other damage, as well as having their car navigation systems ripped out, investigators say.

The agency's Crime Scene Investigation Unit was summoned to the Wilsonville Chevrolet Automobile dealership Sunday at 12:45 PM. The dealership is located at 26051 SW Boones Ferry Road, in Wilsonville.

Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas Sheriff's Office ways that employees arriving at this automobile dealership discovered at least 26 new automobiles had windows smashed and expensive ‘navigator radio systems' stolen from each of these vehicles parked on the Wilsonville Chevrolet Automobile dealership lot.

The management of Wilsonville Chevrolet states that sometime Saturday evening / Sunday morning, thieves entered this lot smashing vehicle windows to gain access to the interior of the vehicle -- to remove and steal -- the elaborate navigation radio systems installed, Strovink said. Wilsonville Chevrolet reports the total loss is estimated between $70 and $100,000.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating this extensive theft and offering a reward for information leading to the identification of the person, or persons responsible.
