Sheriff's Deputy Catches Woman Traveling over 100 MPH on I-5

The driver identified as 22-year-old Alison Corum advised Deputy Burnham she was in a hurry to get home.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - On Tuesday, Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Deputy Shane Burnham was working traffic enforcement on Interstate 5 near Mile Post 271 near Woodburn.

While traveling northbound on Interstate 5, Deputy Burnham was passed in his marked patrol vehicle by a speeding motorist.

He paced the vehicle at speeds in excess of 100 MPH.

The driver identified as 22-year-old Alison Corum advised Deputy Burnham she was in a hurry to get home due to needing to be at work early in the morning.

Due to having a passenger in her vehicle, Ms. Corum was cited for Reckless Driving (crime), Reckless Endangering (crime) and Violation of Speed Limit 103 MPH in 65 MPH Zone (1,103 dollar fine-violation).

Ms. Corum was transported to the Marion County Jail where she was cited and released
