Floating Dock (from Japan?) Washes Up On Oregon BeachSalem-News.comThis grim reminder certainly has the capacity to make a person feel small.
(NEWPORT, OR CNN/KATU) - A mysterious dock has washed up along a beach in Oregon. Some speculate it may be from Japan, as the result of last year's tsunami. The dock has a placard with Japanese writing that they are attempting to translate. KATU News out of Oregon, traced a phone number on the placard to a business located in Tokyo. Needless to say, Oregon has been on the lookout for such debris from Japan's deadly earthquake and tsunami that ravaged Fukushima. Small debris has been detected prior to now, but nothing of this magnitude, not even close in fact. This grim reminder certainly has the capacity to make a person feel small. It is hard to imagine the horror that the Japanese experienced as a result of this act of mother nature. Then there is the Fukushima nuclear meltdown... If anyone has not seen the amazing video clips of the tsunami washing ashore at Fukishima, they should. I have possibly spent too much time watching these videos, and today I discover many new videos from Japan that have recently been added to the YouTube lineup.
