Oregon City Man Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash Near KeizerSalem-news.com
(KEIZER) - Investigators believe that speed and alcohol were factors in a crash Monday afternoon that sent two men to the hospital, one with serious injuries. It happened just before 1:00 PM Monday at Wheatland Rd NE near Brooklake Rd NE, north of Keizer, according to Kevin Rau with the Marion County Sheriff`s Office. He says that based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the black 1991 Nissan was being driven by 23-year-old James Reasons III, of Oregon City who lost control in a curve, causing the car to leave the road, go down an embankment and hit a tree. James Reasons sustained severe head trauma and possible internal injuries and is being treated at Salem Hospital at this hour. He is currently in serious condition. His passenger, 53-year-old Clayton Wilson IV, of Keizer, was apparently uninjured in the crash, but taken to Silverton Hospital for examination as a precaution. The Marion County Interagency Crash Team is continuing to investigate the crash. It is unclear if either of the men were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. Rau says it is also unclear at this point if citations will be issued. Wheatland Rd NE was completely closed at Brooklake Rd NE for several hours Monday as deputies completed their investigation.
