(BAGHDAD, Iraq) - A U.S. Air Force F-16 "Fighting Falcon" fighter jet has crashed during a close air support mission in Iraq.

The Air Force confirms that one crewmember was aboard the jet flying with the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, adding that the cause of the crash is under investigation.

The last time an F-16 was involved in such an incident was late November 2006, when another close air support mission ended with a fatal crash in the Anbar province.
