(LEBANON) - A Lebanon man was killed when his motorcycle impacted a concrete bridge abutment near the Santiam River Saturday afternoon between Lebanon and Sweet Home.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at 7:24 PM Saturday on Pleasant Valley Road and McDowell Creek Road.

While en-route to the crash they were informed by Lebanon Fire Medics that the only person involved in this crash was deceased.

Police say 37-year Tonn Spencer Cummins 37 years of age of Lebanon, had been driving a Silver 2003 Kawasaki Ninja Z3B motorcycle North Bound on Pleasant Valley Road when he lost control on a slight curve in the road and crashed head on into the south end of the concrete bridge abutment. Mr. Cummins had been wearing a helmet and protective clothing.

Mr. Cummins died at the scene as a result of his injuries, and was transported to Huston-Jost Funeral Home in Lebanon, Oregon. This crash is still under investigation
