Two Arrested For Selling, Using Drugs Near Three Greater Albany Public Schools


49-year old Julie Gail Hokema and 51-year old Michael Edward Raper of Albany face numerous charges stemming from a heroin bust Thursday

(ALBANY) - The Linn Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 2010 SW 16th Avenue in Albany on Thursday.

Arrested at the scene pursuant to the search warrant were 49-year old Julie Gail Hokema and 51-year old Michael Edward Raper, both occupants of the residence.

Hokema was arrested and charged with Unlawful Delivery of Heroin within 1000 feet of a School, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance-Heroin, and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants-Controlled Substance.

Raper was booked and lodged for Unlawful Delivery of Heroin within 1000 feet of a School and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance-Heroin.

The home is located within 1000 feet of three Greater Albany Public Schools facilities; Liberty Elementary School, Memorial Middle School, and West Albany High School.

Detectives seized approximately 6.7 grams of heroin, $1500 in U.S. currency, packaging material, scales, and drug paraphernalia.

The Linn Drug Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Linn County Sheriff`s Department, and the Albany, Lebanon and Sweet Home Police Departments.
