Governor Orders Flags to be Flown at Half-Staff in Memory of Oregon SoldierSalem-News.comFlags to be flown at half-staff on Monday in honor of Private First Class Thomas L. Tucker.
(SALEM) - Governor Kulongoski has ordered that all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff on Monday, in memory of Private First Class Thomas L. Tucker of Madras, Oregon. PFC Tucker was assigned to the Army`s 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was killed on or about June 16th near Baghdad, Iraq. "Private First Class Tucker was a son of Oregon and a true American Hero. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and thank the town of Madras for wrapping their arms around them," said Governor Kulongoski. "Oregonians are proud to have had Private First Class Tucker as a member of our community and we`ll hold him in our memories. His sacrifice is a testament to his honor and courage, and his bravery on the battlefield will not be forgotten."
