(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Divers were called out to a report of a body floating in the Willamette River at Lake Oswego around 8:30 this morning. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink says the discovery was made in the area of 17100 SW Old River Road, in Lake Oswego. They soon learned there was a second body in the area. "During the recovery of this specific body an additional human body was also discovered visible in the water approximately 200 yards up river from the initial body found." Strovink says the first body were discovered by recreational boaters on the Willamette River. "Both Fire and Clackamas County Sheriff's Marine patrol personnel conducted the recovery of the two described human remains from the Willamette River, and these remains are in the custody of the Clackamas County Medical Examiner." He says it is anticipated these human remains will be forensically examined tomorrow, with an autopsy to be performed by the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office, in Clackamas. "It is presumed the results of this autopsy will be available in a timely fashion by the Medical Examiner, and the formal identification of these bodies will be released accordingly." The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is presently reviewing missing person reports and prior marine incidents that may assist the ongoing investigative identification effort being conducted.
