GOP's Gang Mentality

Our Government is stymied while The Republican Holy See tries to get Mitt Romney elected.

Pat Robertson
Pat 'Blockheadson'?

(PASO ROBLES, CA) - The Republican Party has become more a religious than political Party that devolved from the Puritan concept of Christianity that uses the same methods Roman Catholics used for centuries to establish its power over those it ruled ruthlessly until, in the 18h century, Protestants won their freedom from The Church.

Now, however, Evangelists with their simplistic insistence and belief in God; i.e.; Jesus as Christ, and the Bible as the definitive word of God, have taken over the Republican Party and its membership which it controls with an iron will every bit as determined as was the Catholic Church. Why anyone with a rational mind would agree to such a turn of events is incredible. It is like jumping out of the fires of an Inquisitional Hell into the frying pan of uncertain Evangelistic purgatory based on faith - defined as loyalty and trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof.

The God-talk of Evangelists is appealing to persons who have not taken the time or made the effort to learn the truth for themselves. But Evangelists make up much of what they say and use selected testimonials of recognizable-others to support thoughts or beliefs that are ancillary to their own. It’s a pity really, because the key to Christianity is the Bible, not a stage or the pulpit in which Evangelists preach that “only they who do not question what they say are true Christians; and intellectuals are not, because they do.”

The Republican Party of God actually has little to do with God, and much to do with the power to sway political events in its favor. They have come too close for comfort in their desire to make the U.S. Government a Theocracy based on their image. Over the years they have succeeded in putting people of faith in positions of authority at virtually every level of local, state and federal offices, including the Supreme Court; creating a cadre, such as the Republicans in Congress, that can be counted on to do as it is told.

Hence, our Government is stymied while The Republican Holy See tries to get Mitt Romney elected to replace President Barack Obama. If they succeed, the GOP will become the greatest danger to our American way of life, ever. Reason enough to re-elect Barack Obama to a second term and preserve the Secular nature of our government.

Kenneth G. Ramey, Salem-News.com's Religion and Philosophy Writer, confronts the hard issues of politics and religion from a logical point of view that combines interesting insight with history into the truth, or lack thereof, that underlies the strengths and weaknesses of the Religious Right’s determination to use American politics for its own misguided, or selfish, interest. It’s rare for a writer to balance his writing between religious values and the secular guarantees of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights with the knowledge that Ken possesses, and to do it so effectively.

Ken was born in Minnesota but was raised in California since 1932. He is the youngest of four boys raised by his mother alone during the dark years of the Great Depression. He Graduated from SFSU in the 1970s when in his mid-forties, majoring in Spanish North American History, and added three years of post-graduate study, much of it in Philosophy and Religion. We live at a critical time in history and believe Ken's views represent the view of many who are tired of the commercialism and false interpretations about religion today. Anonomous has finaly told us what he really is, any why he hides behind his "A" rather than tell us who he really is. Consequently, all his remarkls are frivolous and useless to Salem News discussions.

You want to live in a Demogracy or under a dictator like Obama? Turn our Country in a third World Country? Give him all your money? Live without any rights? Off course you do because you are progressive, more like communist, just like Obama.

Religions are essentially "Ideologies." So which ideology has caused more harm to Americans than any others? The democratic party is your answer, and the evidence is beyond a reasonable doubt. Ask those people in the public unions who have been losing their jobs by the hundreds of thousands, and now we are seeing "bankruptcies", like in Stockton California where retired people on pensions will have their incomes most likely reduced. There is only one state out of 50 that has all pensions fully covered at 100% and that is Wisconsin. So which "Ideology" controls that state? The voters there knew who was being responsible, and in time the entire country will. Sure people vote in their own self-interest most of the time, but now we are seeing the evidence of what happens when you say anything to get the vote. Be wise this November, and ask yourself, are you ready for four more years of horrible leadership? I sure hope not, for we have some serious problems, and we have clear evidence of how past conservatives have gotten us out of this type of economic mess, and you don't do it like what has happened with the current leadership and their feckless ideology. Distractions is all the far left can offer, and they simply cannot lead.
