Police: Suspect Flees Traffic Stop in McMinnvilleSalem-News.comTracy Duncan was treated and released at the scene by Sheridan Medics for injuries sustained as a result of the crash. William Duncan is still at large.
(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - McMinnville Officers say a traffic stop early Sunday morning at 1:50 a.m. led to a pursuit and injury crash before it was over. Captain Dennis Marks with McMinnville Police say the incident began when an officer attempted to stop a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix on SE Davis near Booth Bend Road. The driver, 38-year old William James Duncan, drove off from the scene after being identified by the officer, he said. "Officers pursued the vehicle a short distance; however, when it was apparent that Mr. Duncan was not going to yield the pursuit was terminated near the intersection of SE Davis and Chandler Avenue." Marks says speeds in excess of 65-miles per hour were reached on SE Davis Street. "A short time after the pursuit was terminated the vehicle crashed into the side of an apartment complex building on the Linfield College Campus," Marks said. "There was minimal damage done to the building and no one inside was injured. There is no damage estimate at this time. Both occupants then fled the vehicle after the crash." Marks says the passenger of the vehicle, 38-year old Tracy Ann Duncan, was later found hiding in a backyard approximately a block south of the crash scene and taken into custody for second-degree Criminal Trespass. She was lodged at YCCF and her bail was set at $2,500.00. Tracy Duncan was treated and released at the scene by Sheridan Medics for injuries sustained as a result of the crash. William Duncan is still at large. Both William and Tracy Duncan currently reside at 1428 NW 6th Street McMinnville, OR. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the McMinnville Police Department (503) 434-7307.
