15 Salem Firefighters to Climb 69 Flights of Stairs to Help Fight Leukemia

(SALEM) - 15 Salem firefighters will join over a thousand other firefighters at the 16th Annual Scott firefighters Stair Climb in the largest firefighter competition in the United States.

The event is held in Seattle, Washington at the Columbia Center, the tallest building this side of the Mississippi. This is all to help raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society research. Last year Salem Fire Fighters raised over $5,000 by climbing 69 floors totaling 1,311 steps.

The 15 firefighters this year are Matt Brozovich, Chuck Ettel, Trever Fosmark, Rich Lee, Pat Caprino, Mike Heffner, Ryan Ross, Mike Ladd, Steve Ferrier, David Brown, Jarrett Lundborg, Cory Cochran, Willy Giddings, Ian Fitzgearld, and John Merrick.
