(PORTLAND, OR) - This afternoon, Sunday March 10, 2013, at 1:40 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the Jantzen Beach shopping center on the report of an assault to a TriMet driver.

Officers arrived and contacted the victim who told police that a man punched him in the face then left the area. The victim told police that the suspect and another man got on the bus earlier with a dog. The driver told police that initially he told them that they could not bring the dog on the bus but after they claimed it was a service animal, he allowed them to ride. When the men got off the bus, one of them punched the driver in the face. The driver did not need medical treatment.

Officers checking the area located two men that matched the description given by the TriMet driver.

19-year-old Christopher Charles Jones was confirmed as the suspect. He was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree. The other man, 24-year-old Tonari Leeivory Harris, was not involved in the assault but did have three outstanding arrest warrants.

Both men were booked into the Multnomah County Jail. The dog was given to a family member.
